Not all changes should be revolutions.
Bakirathi Mani’s old home pageBakirathi Mani is a professor of English literature at Swarthmore College. She hired me to update her existing website to reflect her recent teaching and academic work, but she was also concerned that her site shouldn’t look outdated. I suggested that the core design motifs in her existing site were still quite effective, but that some smaller tweaks could make the design even more functional. Professor Mani’s new website keeps the best aspects of her previous design while improving its legibility and accessibility. After completing this update, I also showed her how she can use some of the college’s software to update the text on her new website, something she wasn’t able to do with the old site.
